to Thomas Petrie
When I met Thomas Petrie approximately 10 years ago, I learned that
he loved to, in his words, “capture” original Russell art and bronzes.
This introduction, plus a very special trip to Great Falls with him to see
his art displayed in the 100-year anniversary of the 1919 Calgary
Victory Stampede, inspired me to start “capturing” the majority of the
Russell-illustrated and inspired books, magazines, and catalogs that
are now contained in this collection.
